The bill for the evening features four distinct acts: Emancipation, Wasting Thirst, Denouncement, and Abscission. Each of these bands will be taking the stage throughout the night, providing a continuous flow of music from the start time until the end. Because the event is listed as all ages, it’s accessible to anyone interested in the music, regardless of age.
The venue, Daltons, is situated in a fairly unique spot under the Brighton Zip on the Lower Promenade, with the postcode BN2 1TB. It functions as a grassroots music venue, and the layout is designed to accommodate a decent crowd while still offering some space to move around. The main space is a standing area with a capacity of 200, which should keep things feeling focused on the stage. If you find yourself needing a bit of space or a change of scenery between sets, there is a lounge area inside. Additionally, the venue features a large covered terrace that looks out over the beach, which is a decent spot to step out to if you want to catch some air while the bands are playing.
The event is entirely free to attend, which makes it an easy choice for a weeknight outing. The schedule is set for an 18:00 start, and the music will run until 22:00. It’s a simple, direct way to see four bands in a local venue without the usual ticket costs or complications. If you’re around on the 2nd of July, it’s worth heading down to the Lower Promenade to check out what the organisers have put together for this edition.
