ThirdSpace Theatre presents a double bill of youth theatre productions featuring the classic Lord of the Flies and a modern reinterpretation of the Greek tragedy Antigone.
ThirdSpace Theatre are bringing a double bill of youth theatre to The Old Market on Saturday 11 July, with Lord of the Flies and Antigone both on the same ticket. Both are youth-led productions, and the company describes them as bold, intense, and built around the voices and energy of the young performers. One ticket gets you in for the whole night, so you'll see both in one go.

Lord of the Flies is based on William Golding's novel, adapted by Nigel Williams and published by Faber & Faber Ltd. It's the story we all know: a group of boys stranded on an island who have to build their own society from scratch, and the way things start to unravel when they do. It looks at peer pressure, identity, fear, and what happens when the usual structures of society just aren't there. This version is performed by the Saturday BYC group, directed by Angela El-Zeind.
Antigone is a reimagining of the Greek tragedy that pulls it right into today's politics. The story follows Antigone, who breaks the law to honour her brother Polinices, who's been branded a terrorist. It uses satire, music, and some pretty blunt commentary to question authority and justice. This one is performed by the Wednesday 16-25 group, directed by Tanushka Marah.
Tickets are £14 standard, £12 concession, and £47 for a family of four, with a £2 venue levy per ticket (£8 for a family) added on top. It's rated 12+, and anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 17:15, and the first show starts at 18:00.
