Each session lasts 40 minutes and is built around exploring a specific children's book. The facilitators, Tashi and Jack, lead the group through a mix of music, movement, and storytelling. It is not just sitting and listening; the sessions include original songs, classic nursery rhymes, games, and puppets to keep the children engaged. One parent noted that their four-year-old enjoys the anticipation of seeing which book the 'Story Owl' will choose each week, while their one-year-old responds well to the rattles and the songs. It is a structured but active environment where the children are encouraged to participate throughout the session.
If you are planning to head down, the event takes place at the Komedia Studio at 44-47 Gardner Street. It is important to note that for this specific event, you need to use the entrance on Regent Street (BN1 1UL), as the usual Gardner Street entrance is not in use. There is space available to leave your pushchairs once you arrive. The cost is £7.50 per child, with a reduced rate of £3.50 for siblings. Adults and babies under 9 months old can attend for free. While they do allow drop-ins if there is space available on the day, it is recommended that you book your tickets in advance to ensure you have a spot.
