John Finnemore is bringing his show, Among Other, to the Komedia on Monday, 17 August 2026. It is an opportunity to see the writer and performer, best known for his work on Cabin Pressure and John Finnemore’s Souvenir Programme for BBC Radio 4, live in Brighton.

The content of the show is a retrospective of his radio career, mixed with new writing. Finnemore has curated a selection of his favourite sketches and monologues from the last nine series of his sketch show. These are pieces that have been refined through years of radio production, and he is presenting them alongside brand new material that has not been heard before. It is a structure that allows him to revisit the characters and scenarios that listeners of his radio work will likely recognise, while also introducing fresh ideas.
He will not be performing solo. For this tour, he is accompanied on stage by one of the other four members of the original cast from his radio programme. This collaboration brings a specific energy to the stage, as they recreate the interplay that defined the radio series. The performance is being held in the Komedia Basement, located at 44-47 Gardner Street.
Regarding the logistics, the doors open at 19:00, and the show is scheduled to begin at 20:00. The venue operates an unreserved seating policy, so it is worth keeping in mind that your spot is not assigned when you book. The event is strictly for those aged 16 and over. If you are planning to grab a bite, the venue has a menu of snacks available for attendees. Tickets are currently priced at £23.00.
