If the name doesn't ring a bell, the context might. Dasilva's legacy goes back to Manchester's Haçienda, one of the most influential clubs in the history of British dance music, and he's still active in the scene today through the 'I Love Acid' collective. He's not just coasting on the old stuff, either — he's been working across the global scene and put out a new track this year, Sun Brings Joy, on Hottwerk Records. That's one of the two names putting this on, so it's a night coming from his own circle.
Waterbear is over in The Kings Road Arches (169-170, BN1 1NB), and it's described as an intimate space for music, which fits the bill for a club night like this. It's the kind of room where you're close to the booth, and the focus is on the dancefloor rather than a big stage. If you're into electronic music and the clubbing side of things, that's exactly where you'll want to be.
Tickets are £12, and the night kicks off at 22:00 on Saturday 25 July at Waterbear, The Kings Road Arches.
