The premise for Catamaran is quite specific. In 2025, Milo Edwards discovered a box of old letters tucked away in his late mother’s closet. That discovery serves as the anchor for the show, which digs into his family history and the 1980s. He uses the material to ask broader questions about what actually remains of a human life once it is over, what gets deleted, and what happens if that life turns out to be surprisingly 'spicy'. There is also a specific mystery he explores: whatever happened to Jim Lock’s catamaran? It is a show that balances personal history with these wider, slightly absurd questions.
Critics have been paying attention to his work for a while now. The British Comedy Guide has called him "a formidable stand up force," while The List noted his "dexterous delivery" and "inch-perfect accuracy." Other reviews have been equally specific about his style; The Wee Review described the show as "near perfect," and Broadway Baby compared his comedy to marmalade. The Daily Telegraph suggested he is someone who will "surely go onwards and upwards." It is clear he is considered one of the more vital and intelligent voices in UK stand-up right now, which makes this show a clear opportunity to see his latest material in person.
If you are planning to head down to Komedia on Gardner Street, the doors open at 19:30, with the show starting at 20:00. It is an 18+ event, and there is an advisory regarding strong language and adult themes throughout the performance. Tickets are priced at £17.50 for standard entry, and the seating is unreserved, so it is worth getting there in good time to find a spot.
